We started our trip from Zürich late evening, flying with Emirates and the Airbus A380 to Dubai. After a short transfer with the bus to Abu Dhabi we arrived at the Westin Hotel, located next to Abu Dhabi Golf Club, the home of the HSBC European Tour Event. Abu Dhabi is one of the 7 emirates belonging to the United Arab Emirates. The landscape and the surroundings various from total sandy desert areas to one of the most modern down town cities in the world. The architecture and infrastructure… very impressive. We played our golf at 3 different venues. Abu Dhabi, Saadiyat Beach and the Yas Links. The courses designed by Pete Dye, Gary Player and Greg Norman made the experience somewhat a bit nostalgic and at the same time existing. The quality of these courses are world class and leaves no wishes open.
On our day off we went to the Louvres Museum which in itself is worth a trip on its own and some visited the Grand Mosque which also is an architectural masterpiece.
After spending 7 nights and 8 days in a sunny warm region it was time to say good bye. The feedback from our group was overwhelming positive and we have already researched our dates for 2020.
So thanks to everyone taking part and Abu Dhabi, see you next year!
